Efficient bottom grate boiler operation requires a uniform mixture of coarse and fine coal across stoker hoppers to insure even combustion. Conical® Nonsegregating coal distributors will distribute the coal evenly among all boiler inlets, thus producing a uniform fuel bed, facilitating maximum boiler capacity, and lower maintenance. The Conical® Nonsegregating coal distributor is formed taking a bottom conical plate, adding two side plates, an entrance flange and top cover. It becomes a completely dust tight chute.
Nonsegregated coal feed assures a uniform fire on the grate which burns completely in the residence time, and thus minimizes any remaining combustibles in the ash. Maintenance of boiler arches and stoker components is decreased because there are not hotter spots.
