A Plow Mixer is a high shear, high-speed plow type mixer, with cylindrical short aspect ratio mixing chambers.
Typically used for powders, granules and pastes, these horizontal Gardner batch mixers utilize a high-shear plow agitator, which imparts a high-energy mixing action into the materials. This results in extremely short mixing time and efficiency.
Extra shear can be achieved by adding side cutters or intensifiers. Alternative trough shapes are available to suit specific application requirements. Capacities range from 1.5 to 1800 ft3 (50 to 50,000 liters).
